U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs attracted $137.3 million in net inflows on Wednesday, their third consecutive session of positive flows, according to data from Farside Investors. Spot ether products moved in the opposite direction, with $21.41 million in outflows on the same day.
Demand was highly concentrated. BlackRock’s IBIT took in $136 million and Bitwise’s BITB added $1.3 million, while every other fund recorded zero flows. That means a single product accounted for roughly 99% of the day’s net buying. The session followed $176 million in inflows on October 27 and $110.3 million on October 26, bringing the three-day streak to $423.6 million.
Ether funds are moving the other way. Wednesday’s outflows marked a third straight trading day of withdrawals, following $60.22 million lost on October 27 and $88.58 million on October 26. A few ether products bucked the trend: Fidelity’s FETH and Morgan Stanley’s MSSE drew $18.8 million and $1 million, and Grayscale Mini ETH added $3.6 million.
Other altcoin products saw little demand. Solana funds lost $5.66 million, while XRP funds recorded no flows. The entire Solana outflow came from Bitwise’s BSOL.
The bitcoin inflows have not lifted the price. BTC slipped below $80,000 during Thursday’s Asian session, ending a two-day rebound as tech stocks sold off and the Federal Reserve kept a hawkish tone. October has also been uneven for the products: a mid-month session saw $635 million leave bitcoin ETFs, far more than Wednesday’s intake. Cumulative net inflows across U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs stand at approximately $57.7 billion.
The split between steady bitcoin buying and persistent ether redemptions points to selective institutional positioning rather than broad risk appetite. Whether IBIT-driven inflows extend into a fourth session ahead of U.S. inflation data will be the near-term test.
