Terra Luna Classic is voting on a significant proposal to enable interblockchain communication (IBC) with the Osmosis protocol. If approved, this proposal will restore transfers between Terra Luna Classic and Osmosis by reactivating Client ID 07-tender mint-12 on Columbus-5, which expired referencing the Osmosis validator set.
Terra Luna Classic Osmosis IBC Reactivation Proposal
Proposal 12104, titled “Reactivate Osmosis IBC,” is open for voting on the Station wallet. It was put forward by developer Fragwuerdig, a former core team member. The proposal’s main goal is to reactivate the IBC link between Osmosis and Terra Luna Classic.
Recently, Terra Classic community member and validator Vegas highlighted the need for an update to the Osmosis IBC client to ensure seamless operation of the IBC relay, facilitating interchain transfers between LUNC and Osmosis. He recommended upgrading from Client ID 07-tendermint-12 to 07-tendermint-250.
“We propose upgrading from version 07-tendermint-12 to 07-tendermint-250,” said Vegas. This update is crucial for the efficient functioning of the IBC.
Voting Progress
The proposal has garnered significant support, with over 96% of votes in favor so far. The voting deadline is May 25. Despite the overwhelming support, the proposal has also received 3% “No with veto” votes. Seven validators, including LuncGoblins, Moon Rabbit Validator, and MoonRunners, have voted “Yes,” indicating their belief in the necessity of this proposal.
The community is closely watching the outcome of this vote, as the reactivation of the IBC link with Osmosis could significantly enhance the interoperability and utility of Terra Luna Classic within the broader blockchain ecosystem.
