In a recent development involving Tron founder Justin Sun, 2.08 million EIGEN tokens were airdropped to the “Justin Sun 4” wallet, one of the wallets associated with Sun.
Justin Sun was the second wallet that staked the most Ethereum on EigenLayer, with a total of 162,000 ETH stacked directly to EigenLayer and through Puffer before March.
Although the airdropped EIGEN tokens are not yet transferable, they are currently trading on some pre-launch markets at $7.84 per token. This means that Sun earned approximately $16 million from his stakes. In total, Sun had staked $470 million worth of ETH to EigenLayer.
While the transferability of these tokens has not been opened yet, officials have stated that they will become transferable at a later date, with September 30 being the targeted date, according to a message from the Eigen Foundation on Telegram.
