The flaw affects tokens issued on the ledger, including stablecoins. Supply of the native <strong>XRP<\/strong> token is not exposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CoinDesk illustrates the risk with a stablecoin issuer that lets a payments partner burn tokens when customers redeem them for dollars. That service should need separate permission to issue more, and this fix enforces that separation. Until the patch goes live, the network\u2019s documentation warns developers against granting the token-burning permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The amendment, fixCleanup3_4_0, has support from <strong>33 of 35<\/strong> trusted validators tracked by XRPL Dashboard. Rule changes require more than 80% backing held for two uninterrupted weeks, meaning at least 29 validators. The fix was originally due on Oct. 23, but support fell to 26 on Oct. 21 and recovered about two hours later, restarting the countdown. If backing holds, the earliest activation window falls around 14:46 UTC on Nov. 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The package also corrects calculations used when issuers recover tokens from trading pools and when users deposit or withdraw from vaults that pool assets. A separate correction keeps a loan from being marked late or in default before its due date has passed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those lending repairs will ship before the lending product itself. Its main amendment still has 19 votes, while the vault system it depends on has 21, <em>according to XRPL Dashboard<\/em>. Both need 29 to start their own two-week clocks. That makes <strong>Nov. 18<\/strong> the earliest possible lending launch, if the threshold is reached on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">XRP traded near $1.25 on Monday. The fix removes a known risk for stablecoin issuers on XRPL ahead of the network\u2019s planned move into onchain lending.
