The divergence leaves the overall ETF picture negative despite BTC reclaiming the $82,000 level.

BlackRock carried the bitcoin side almost single-handedly. Among the 12 funds, IBIT was the only one to record an inflow, drawing $16.79 million. Grayscale’s BTC posted a $7.64 million outflow, while Invesco’s BTCO lost $4.09 million. The remaining products, including Fidelity’s FBTC, reported zero net flows for the session, according to SoSoValue data.

The modest print followed a heavier day of redemptions. On Oct. 14, the funds recorded $261.4 million in net outflows, led by Fidelity’s FBTC with $152.7 million withdrawn and BlackRock’s IBIT with $110.9 million. That extended a cooling trend: the products shed about $760 million between Oct. 7 and Oct. 12, after nearly $3 billion in inflows from Sept. 21 through Oct. 6, the fastest pace of ETF buying since November 2025.

The broader asset base remains intact. Total net assets stood at $105.71 billion, equivalent to about 6.41% of bitcoin’s market capitalization, with cumulative net inflows at $56.96 billion. On-chain data points the other way from the fund flows. Large-holder wallets, excluding exchanges and mining pools, held 3.03 million BTC, their highest balance since Nov. 21, 2025.

Price action is hovering near a key reference level. The estimated average cost basis of U.S. spot bitcoin ETF holdings sits near $81,500. Bitcoin fell below that estimate on Oct. 8 and Oct. 13, but closed above it on both days. BTC rebounded above $82,000 after briefly falling below $80,000.

The ETF cost-basis zone around $81,500 is now the level to watch. Sustained trading below it could pressure holders sitting on paper losses. Meanwhile, persistent ether fund outflows suggest institutional appetite for ETH exposure remains weaker than for bitcoin.

U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs posted $5.06 million in net inflows on Oct. 15, while spot ETH ETFs saw

[6

post-617","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-eft
["GET
