It is one of Circle’s largest publicly disclosed acquisitions since it bought crypto exchange Poloniex in 2018.

Tazapay processes more than $25 billion in annualized payment volume, works with over 60 banking and fintech partners, and connects businesses to local payout networks in more than 100 markets. As of July 31, 2026, more than 60% of Tazapay’s transaction volume already ran on stablecoins, according to Circle. The deal grants Circle regulated “last-mile” infrastructure — the local banking and payout connections needed to turn USDC into usable currency for businesses outside crypto-native markets.

The two companies have an existing relationship: Tazapay became an early design partner for the Circle Payments Network in 2025, and Circle Ventures led Tazapay’s Series B extension earlier this year alongside Coinbase Ventures and CMT Digital, with Ripple also participating in that round. Irfan Ganchi, Circle’s senior vice president of payments, said the acquisition would let the company originate and terminate payments in Asia-Pacific and emerging markets where demand for USDC-denominated transactions is growing fastest. Tazapay will keep operating under its own brand and product roadmap, and existing customer contracts, accounts and integrations are expected to remain unchanged through the transition.

The transaction, disclosed in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, is expected to close in 2027 pending approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and other customary conditions. Circle will pay in Class A common stock, with the final share count calculated from the volume-weighted average closing price over the 20 trading sessions before completion. The move signals Circle is building beyond the stablecoin itself toward owning more of the payment rails that route USDC into local currencies worldwide — a strategy that, if it scales, could pressure traditional cross-border payment providers to accelerate their own stablecoin integrations.

Circle Internet Group has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Tazapay, a Singapore-based cross-border payments infrastructure company, in

[3

post-570","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-market
["GET
