The reversal followed a much stronger run just seven days earlier, when the same 13 funds pulled in $853.5 million — their best week since April.

The swing highlights how sensitive institutional flows remain to short-term price action. That early-August inflow surge had coincided with a rare hack targeting a well-known brand of cold-storage hardware wallets, which briefly renewed interest in gaining exposure through regulated, custodied vehicles rather than self-custody. Once that effect faded, flows swung back into the red.

BlackRock‘s IBIT remains the dominant fund in the category by a wide margin, though it has posted mixed results in recent weeks: over the past five trading days the fund took in $154.5 million, but it has lost $1.83 billion over the past month and nearly $3.91 billion over three months, according to the TFTC Bitcoin ETF Flow Tracker. On a one-year view, IBIT is still positive by roughly $5.14 billion, with cumulative net flows since inception at $60.35 billion.

BTC itself has largely stalled through the volatility, holding in a range roughly between $62,000 and $65,600 for most of the month and failing to close decisively above resistance near $65,000. Year-to-date, the token remains down more than 25%, a stretch some analysts attribute to a broader risk-off mood tied to shifting rate expectations and thinner summer liquidity.

Across the 666 trading sessions since the funds launched in January 2024, net flows have now turned negative on 40% of days — up from 31% in the first year and running at 54% so far in 2026, underscoring how much choppier institutional demand has become this year.

Total net assets across the complex stand at roughly $76.6 billion, with cumulative net inflows since launch of $51.8 billion. The next major catalyst may be the Federal Reserve’s July meeting minutes, due this week, alongside a White House meeting between crypto industry executives and administration officials.

US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs shed a net $389.7 million in the week of Aug. 10, marking their largest

[6

post-538","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-eft
["GET
