The Solana Mobile ecosystem is gearing up for a significant milestone as it prepares to distribute nearly 2 billion Seeker (SKR) tokens to its hardware users and developers next week. This initial distribution represents 20% of the total 10-billion token supply, rewarding those who have been integral to the launch of Solana’s second-generation smartphone.
Distribution Details and Tiers According to an official announcement on X, the “allocation tracker” is already functional. Owners of the Seeker phone can now inspect their Seed Vault wallets to view their designated rewards. The breakdown is as follows:
- Users: 100,908 individuals will share a pool of over 1.8 billion SKR.
- Developers: 188 builders will receive a combined 141 million SKR.
Eligibility for the airdrop was determined by a combination of phone usage, activity within the Solana decentralized app (dApp) store, and on-chain engagement during the first season. Rewards are divided into five performance-based tiers: Scout, Prospector, Vanguard, Luminary, and Sovereign. Those in the “Sovereign” category stand to receive the maximum reward of 750,000 SKR per user.
Utility and Staking The event is scheduled for January 21 at 2:00 AM UTC. Unlike previous distributions, Solana Mobile is launching staking functionality simultaneously. Upon claiming, users can immediately stake their SKR through the Seed Vault Wallet or a dedicated web portal to start earning additional rewards.
Evolution of the Mobile Strategy While Solana Mobile initially reported over 150,000 pre-orders for the Seeker, the current airdrop figures show approximately 109,000 eligible participants. This gap suggests a shift toward rewarding active, verified users rather than just initial buyers.
The Seeker device, which began shipping in August 2025 at a price point of roughly $500, represents a strategic pivot for the company.
